Use Senda with AI assistants

Connect ChatGPT, Claude or Codex to read your company's Senda records and suggest HS codes, read-only.

Connect Senda to ChatGPT, Claude or Codex and ask about your company's shipments, orders, containers, documents and tally reports in plain words, find a record by its number, and get HS code suggestions, without leaving the assistant. Every answer links back to the record in Senda.

What you can ask

  • Where things stand: "Where is container MSCU1234567, and when is it due?" The assistant finds the container, its shipment, and the status and estimated delivery date recorded in Senda.
  • What is on file: "What documents are on shipment SH-EXAMPLE-0042?" It lists each document's type, whether a file was uploaded, and when.
  • Lists: "Which of my shipments are in transit?" or "Show my ten most recent orders."
  • Tally totals: "How many pieces and board feet did the tally for container MSCU1234567 count?"
  • HS codes: "Suggest an HS code for kiln-dried white oak lumber." You get suggested 6-digit subheadings and the US tariff schedule revision they were checked against.

See every tool in the tool reference.

Read-only, always

  • An assistant connected to Senda can read. It can't create, change, delete, file or submit anything, whatever you ask it.
  • It sees document details, never the files themselves or a download link.
  • Statuses and dates are what your team recorded in Senda, not a live vessel position.
  • HS code suggestions are a starting point, not a classification. Confirm codes with a licensed customs broker.

What the assistant sees

Only your own company's records, and only the ones a question asks for. Each answer goes to the assistant you connected, and that provider's own terms cover how it handles it. A connection can't reach another company's records: Senda reads the company you signed in to, never one an assistant names.

Senda keeps a record of each connection: the name the app gave itself, who connected it, when, and when it was last used. Anyone in your company can see that list under Connected assistants in Settings → Integrations.

Connect your assistant

Server address
https://sendaship.com/api/mcp

Enter it exactly as shown: no www. and no slash at the end. Some assistants compare it character by character with what Senda reports, and a different spelling fails to connect.

  • ChatGPT: add Senda as a custom MCP server and sign in.
  • Claude: claude.ai and the Claude desktop app, or Claude Code from the terminal.
  • Codex: the Codex CLI, the IDE extension or the ChatGPT desktop app.

Sign in, or use an API key

The usual way to connect is to sign in to Senda from the assistant, check the company Senda names, and choose Approve. Anyone in your company who can see its records can connect. Assistants you run yourself, such as Claude Code and Codex, can use an API key instead: it reads the same records with the same limits.

To disconnect, an admin opens Settings → Integrations and, under Connected assistants, disconnects it. Access ends at once. You can also remove Senda in the assistant itself.
